Playerd: Wiimote Classic ControllerCopyleft Games Group
STATUS: DRAFT

One of our Google Summer of Code students (Mayank Singh) wrote a basic XOrg input driver for Nintendo's Wiimote based on a Linux wiimote driver by David Herrmann (another GSoC student).

The input driver doesn't currently have support for additional peripherals such as the Nunchuk and Classic Controller.

Add code for the Wii Classic Controller. Pass whether a controller is connected, allow programs to turn it on/off (to save power when not in use), and pass its axis, buttons, and other input values to XInput.

To take this task you'll need:

  • Nintendo Wii Remote
  • Nintendo Wii Classic Controller
  • xf86-input-wiimote driver compiled and installed
